On Saturday, June 5, in San Francisco, the Bay Area clamored again
to end the war, end occupation and support of repression of people
abroad by the United States, and end the threat to civil rights at
home.
Many groups, including U.S. ethnic groups now threatened daily by
increasing repression of dissent within the United States, turned out
in opposition to the war and the predatory practices of the United States.
After the UN Plaza rally at 11 AM, thousands marched the length of
San Francisco's Market Street to the Ferry Building, shouting their
protests against the war and the cost to human health and welfare
around the world. They let the U.S. Administration know they want
peace now and an end to the degradation of human rights everywhere.
But this antiwar rally was much more than a protest of the invasion of
